ARTIST’S BANKNOTES

“An initiative is underway in Walthamstow to help tackle the payday debts of people who live in the area.

Earlier this year a group of artists took over a former bank on the High street - and named it the H S C B - the Hoe Street Central Bank.

You wont be able to apply for a mortgage, or cash a cheque there - but you will be able to buy one of their special banknotes.

The proceeds from which will be spent on helping people get out of the red.”
