Art Assembly is a one-day festival brought to you by Art Fund and Waltham Forest to explore how art can make a difference

Join some of the UK’s leading arts organisations actively making a difference to communities. You’ll experience their pioneering projects first-hand – from bread-baking that brings people together, to theatre that breaks down barriers, to art addressing mental health, climate change and more.

Confirmed organisations featured at Art Assembly include Arts CatalystGrizedale ArtsHeart of Glass/the vacuum cleanerMiddlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA) and Synergy Theatre Project. Stay tuned for a full programme and for more line-up announcements.

Art Assembly will take over places and spaces in the heart of Walthamstow, all within walking distance from the William Morris Gallery.

During the festival visitors will also be able to see the gallery’s exhibition Pioneers: William Morris and the Bauhaus, which shows objects made at the Bauhaus side by side with objects from the Arts and Crafts movement for the first time. This exciting project was made possible by an Art Happens crowdfunding campaign.

Art Assembly will be taking place on the same weekend as the Mayor of London’s disability arts festival Liberty, which is coming to Waltham Forest for the first time. Taking place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, Liberty will be a weekend of ground-breaking work from Deaf and disability artists in spaces around Walthamstow.
